Nailgasm

I sometimes have an immature sense of humor, actually I often have an immature sense of humor, especially if the subject is slightly perverted.

Therefore, whenever I see or wear a nail polish with a slightly perverted, dirty or punny name, I get excited.

Queue Nars Orgasm, an orangey pink polish with golden shimmer. It's a gorgeous shade that applies beautifully and is unusually tame for me, but I love it anyways.

My index finger was removed because I think it's ugly.

Nars Orgasm is fantastic!  It goes on smoothly and dried quickly, no formula issues here.
After a few days - I was busy this week - I added 2 layers of Rainbow Honey's A Little Kindness over a couple of fingers. I LOVE this combo! I love it soo much that that I'm sharing this picture even though I took it long after I originally painted my nails. I apologize for all the tip wear and other perfections.

Anyways, I think Orgasm is a nice subdue color that works wonderfully with my skin tone and has a name that just make me smile - I just can't help it.

Does anyone else have this "problem"?

Sandcastles in the Sand...

Well...there aren't actually any sandcastles here, but I can't help making that HIMYM (How I Met your Mother) reference whenever I think about Pretty & Polished's Sand Art.

In case you don't know Sandcastles in the Sand or just happen to love Robin Sparkles like me, enjoy the music video!

I layered two thick coats of Sand Art over one coat of Sally Hansen's Instra-Dri in Lightening. I wish I had used a more vibrant yellow, but Lightening is the only yellow I own.

Nonetheless, I love this combo and Sand Art was a dream to apply.

Sand Art is comprised of tiny matte glitter in purple, yellow, blue, green and pink.

This is my first matte glitter polish, so I was a bit worried about the amount of top coat that was going to be needed to make it nice and smooth; I've heard they are top coat eaters, but I used one layer of Out the Door and my nails weren't gritty at all.

Pretty & Polished nail polishes are sold on Etsy and Llarowe.

Hare's Heat Plague

I don't know why Heat Plague is failing me. It looks gorgeous in the bottle and the swatches made my eyes go wide, but on my nails...bleh.

Now don't get my wrong, it's not ugly, it's just not what I want. It is just too dark, I tried it over a variety of greens, but nothing really wows me.

It takes two coats of polish to get to the glitter level I enjoy, but then the base is just too dark. The polish itself was wonderful, no glitter fishing or trouble. In fact, it is jam packed full of glitter; so it gets dense very quickly.

Here are a few pictures of my Hare ombre:

Here is what I started with:

Thumb- Orly Jealous Much, Index- China Glaze Gaga for Green, Middle- Sinful Colors Happy Ending, Ring-  Sinful Colors Irish Green, Pinky- Revlon Posh

Just noticed the weird green patch on my index finger, I'm not sure how or when that happened, but sorry about that.

Here are two coats of Heat Plague over the greens:

My favorite was two coats over SC Kelly Green.

Any suggestions? If not, on the swap list it goes. I know someone will love it!

In case you didn't know or forgot:
-Hare polishes are sold on her Etsy page and starting July 27th will also be sold on Llarowe.

Nail Polish Funnies

There have been many memes floating around about the nail polish obsessed, and these are my favorites.

I'm sure you have all seen them, but I think they are worth repeating.

And the one that hits closest to home:

My name is Arielle, so all my life I have been associated with The Little Mermaid. After seeing this picture, instead of feeling mild annoyance, I am amused.

Props to the clever ladies who came up with these.

Anywho...the reason why i'm bringing these up is a dear muggle friend of mine has nail polish on her brain (might be my fault..oops) and has drawn a comic (I think as a form of therapy) based on my rambles about nail polish that I had to share. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Maybe I ramble a bit too much about nail polish. This was inspired by Lynnderella Drama, a male nail blogger (One Gent's Ten), and  the concept of Nail Hubbies (she thinks she is my nail hubby) specifically the Hubby responsible for Man Polish.

If you thought this was funny -- I know I do -- check out my nail hubby's webcomic, $5 Life Party.

I will be back soon with an actual manicure.

Quick swatches

I wanted to swatch my new polishes just so I could I see how pretty they are and I thought I would share.

Starting from the top right to the bottom left is Enchanted Awesomeness, Enchanted Austin Powers, Hare Heat Plague, Hare Magic Mist, Hare Why So Igneous, Hare Dog Day Dream, Hare Asteroid Turf, and Nerd Lacquer Holy Grail.
No Flash

Flash

I'm in love with all of these except Heat Plague, but I might need to layer that one to actually appreciate it. Right now, the glitter just looks a bit too muddy and congested for my taste. I also think I will need to layer Magic Mist and Holy Grail in order to get them to really pop.

I used two coats for all of these swatches.

Nail Mail!!

I came home today to some awesome mail! Actually awesome doesn't describe it, but thanks to preorders, restocks, blog sales, swaps and a hoarder mindset these pretties are mine!!

Hare polishes are so gorgeous, I'm so glad to finally have gotten my hands on a few.

From left to right is Asteroid Turf, Dog Day Dream, Magic Mist, Why so Igneous? and Heat Plague.

Here are some close ups:
It's time to ooh and ahh
I swapped one of my unused Nerd Lacquers for Holy Grail.
I can't wait to find out if it actually glows in the dark!

I've been craving a gold holo, so when Enchanted polishes were restocked I went for Austin Powers and couldn't resist Awesomenes. I'm glad I caved, look at that rainbow!

I can't wait for swatching time! If my nails could drool they would be. Now, I have one problem, which polish should I try first?!?

In case you didn't know:
-Enchanted polishes are sold at Llarowe for $15 (however, all colors are being discontinued except Hey Jude, Across the Universe, Octopus's Garden and Secret Sauce)
-Hare polishes are sold on her Etsy page and starting July 27th will also be sold on Llarowe.

Fruitastic Nails

Summer has really begun (or at least I just realized that it did) and so has the itch for some tacky cute fruit nail art. Soo...can I entice anybody with some watermelon, strawberries, and kiwi?

My nails now look fun and summery!!! And they are going to make me smile all day tomorrow, I'll count this as a manicure win, however, I will admit my strawberry looks more like a tomato.

I used ChG I'm With the Lifeguard, Essie Watermelon, Revlon Posh, and Kiss nail art white and black.

If you have any questions (about anything), feel free to ask!

The Addiction is Now Public!

I am a relatively new nail polish addict, but am becoming more and more obsessed each day. I have become hypnotized by the variety in colors, finishes and brands; and have decided to share and chronicle my new addiction.

As my blog name suggests, I am a huge klutz and sometimes have trouble getting my nails to look the way I envisioned them, nonetheless, I still think all polished nails are awesome and love to do any nail art I can with my limited hand control.

So, I hope you will enjoy staring at my nails :)
