Bonus Pic - Cirque Never Nude

This is not a full post, but a omfg this polish is so gorgeous I have to share this crappy cell phone picture of it.

Two coats of Cirque Never Nude is just perfect!

Enjoy!

Eenie Meenie Miney Mo

Eenie Meenie Miney Mo wasn't my selection process, but the name of today's polish by Icing. I used this polish once before in an unfortunate laying combo, but now I am using it by itself.

I used five coats and it is gorgeous!

I just love the teal glitter that pops out in the sun.

I firmly believe everyone needs to head out to an Icing and buy some of their glitter polishes, especially if this is how all of them behave.

Thanks for looking.

Teal Tuesday

So, I recently joined some lovely ladies in doing Teal Tuesday and I couldn't be more excited since teal is one of my favorite colors.

However, since I was away all weekend and was busy celebrating my lovely mothers birthday I didn't have much time to do a manicure.

Nonetheless, here is a quick funky french involving teal.

I promise next tuesday, I'll do better.

Dreamatorium Time? Weird Indeed's Troy & Abed

I'm excited to say it is time for Weird Indeed's Troy & Abed, however, it looks nothing like the dreamatorium. I guess my title might be a bit misleading, but I love the dreamatorium and I wish I had one and could completely immerse myself in fantasies like Troy and Abed do so I of course had to honor it.

Troy & Abed is a pale blue polish with multi-colored and multi-sized glitter. It is an opaque polish so you don't get the suspended glitter look.

I used two coats for all my pictures and while it's a pretty polish with an interesting and pretty appearance, I was disappointed by the glitter payoff. Sadly, all the glitter was at the bottom of the bottle and I was not patient enough to wait, therefore very little glitter. All the weird bumps and imperfections on my nails are my nails and not weird formula issues with Troy & Abed.
If I was a more patient person, this polish would have been gorgeous. I still like it, it reminds of a robin's egg and who can't help but love this label, I'm still very much amused by it.

Thanks for looking.

Sadly, the creator has stopped making polish, but there are still a few polishes available for sale on her Facebook page.

Naild'it Froggy Pond

I have no other associations for today's polish besides it's name so here is Froggy Pond by Naild'it. This is the second polish I have tried by Naild'it and I am a fan. Froggy Pond is full of matte macro yellow, teal, and black with a sparse hint of larger purple hex glitter.

I used two coats on top of Zoya Zuza (index), Myrta (middle), Carmen (ring) and Arizona (pinky). I didn't layer Froggy Pond over anything on my thumbs and used four coats to achieve the opacity I desired.

The formula was a little thick or gloopy (the way I think of it) and the dab method for glitter would have been perfect to use in this case, but I didn't and had a little trouble placing the glitter as you can most easily tell on  my index finger. The lily pads or the big purple glitter were easy to get and I believe I have at least one on each of my fingers.

Froggy Pond is a lot darker than I was expecting, especially on it's own, but I like the way it looks on it's own the best.

oii look at all those runaway glitters

Summer Winter Wonderland - CrowToes Bunny Slope

Today, I have a nail polish to help you beat the heat. CrowToes Bunny Slope is a winter wonderland in a bottle and it is just gorgeous!

soo pretty!
I layered two coats of Bunny Slope over Savina Wisteria. Savina Wisteria is a gorgeous lavender purple with silver shimmer. I tried to capture the shimmer for you, but it wanted to hide.

The formula on Wisteria was wonderful. I used two coats and had full coverage - I know my index finger looks like it has major bald spot, but that wasn't the way it looked in person.

Savina polishes are sold at Nordstrom Rack and I'm not sure where else, sorry.

Back to Bunny Slope. I love the way this polish looks, it is described as a mix of white, silver and opalescent glitters mixed in a clear base.

 It is just gorgeous!

I know a lot people have been having formula issues with CrowsToes polish, but I am not one of them. This polish was a little thick, but not unmanageable and I didn't have any problems getting the glitter where I wanted.

Overall, I absolutely love this polish!

CrowsToes polishes are sold at Llarowe and Overall Beauty.

You're Standing on My Neck la la la

I have a lesser known indie today called Weird Indeed. Unfortunately, she is no longer making polish because she wants to focus on schooling, hopefully next break she will be making polish again.

Anyways, she did a collection called the Best Friends Collection and I picked up Daria & Jane and Troy & Abed.

This post, I am showing Daria & Jane, it is a dark purple jelly with small red glitter and multicolored hex glitter-I can see blue, pink, purple, silver and gold.

This polish was a dream to apply, I used 3 coats (except for my thumb, where I used two coats) for all the pictures above. The glitter was incredibly well behaved, no fishing, no clumping just a total dream to apply.

I tried to paint Daria's face, but it came out a little awkward...oh well.

I really like this polish, it is just lovely. However, I would love this polish based on the labeling alone. Look how cute it is:

Holographic label with a weird snail fish creature, it's just soo cute and awesome! I'm a fan.

Thanks for looking!

PS: The title is the ending line for the Daria theme song.

Summer Lovin' Happened so Fast!

Sorry for the long break, my nails were apparently taking a most needed, but not wanted break from polish. I say most needed because after a week of no polish, my nails are feeling stronger and sharper than they have been in ages.

Anyways, today I have another - well actually two indie polishes. Naild'it's Summer Lovin Sun-Flower Seeds and Enchanted Polish's Austin Powers.

I happened to do a swap with Andrea from Naild'it nail polish and received or rather requested Sun-Flower Seeds and Froggy Pond (swatches coming soon). I was super excited and was not disappointed.

Sun-Flower Seeds is described as "a loaded glitter nail polish with yellows, oranges, shimmers, reds, and whites with black round seeds. It it a great layering polish but also looks good alone. It is loaded with white matte glitter, neon pink, blue and red glitter." so of course yellow seemed like the obvious layering choice, but I felt the need to do something a little different and a gold holo seemed perfect. I love this combo and decided to an accent of Austin Powers just because it is such a gorgeous polish.

Take a look for yourself:

I used two coats of Austin Powers and Sun-Flower Seeds for all of the pictures above. All pictures were taken in natural (but setting) light.

Both polishes were a dream to work with, however, my bottle of Sun-Flower Seeds seems to be missing the big black round glitter, but it doesn't detract from the polish. I can't wait to try out more polishes from both of these brands.

Naild'it polishes are sold on Andrea's Etsy shop and Enchanted Polishes are sold on Llarowe.

Mermaid Shells?

It's officially my birthday and as I publish this post I am still one follower away from my birthday wish :( Hopefully that will change by the end of the day.

I finally got to use Deborah Lippmann's Mermaids Dream and I couldn't have been happier. This polish was a dream to use and was exactly what I had imagined and wanted.

I love the colors and textures of it and while Urban Outfitter's Sea Dust is an almost perfect dupe, it's just not perfect enough.

Look at this lovely polish!

I used two coats in all these photos.

After a day, I got inspired to do some nail art and wanted to do a (sorta) half moon manicure that looked like a mermaid's shell bra.

I used A-England Lady of the Lake for the half moon, Color Club Lavendarling for the stripes, OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI for the dots, and LA Splash Golden Seahorse for additional stripes.

It didn't end up perfect, but I think the concept is solid so I will attempt it again at a later date.

After I finished my shells, I noticed that Golden Seahorse was looking eerily similar to Mermaid's Dream - it doesn't show up all in these photos though - so I decided to compare it to the original and Sea Dust.

I layered Golden Seahorse over Zoya Bevin (thumb), Zoya Wednesday (index) and Zoya Zuza (pinky). Mermaid's Dream is on my middle finger and Sea Dust is on my ring.

Golden Seahorse is lovely, but is not even close to being a dupe. It looks most similar layered over Zuza, but it missing the aqua glitter that make Mermaid's Dream unique.

This was my first time comparing Mermaid's Dream and Sea Dust side by side and I think Mermaid's Dream is definitely worth the money. MD only took two coats to reach desired opacity while SD took three thick coats. SD appears a bit darker and looks smoother; part of what I liked about MD was it's textured look, so I definitely prefer the original.

Thanks for looking! Now I just have to figure out what my birthday manicure should be.

Lynderella Chocolotta Love

For whatever reason, Chocolotta Love was one of my biggest lemming. My friends called it the poop polish, but I just saw shiny prettiness!

Finally, I saw it on a blog sale for a price that I considered sort of reasonable and finally it became mine!

I decided to layer it over two different base colors, so I ended up with Julep Felicity on my left hand and Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy on my right.

Julep Felicity was also part of my August Julep box and thankfully behaved a lot better than its companion, Alfre. There are still some brush strokes, but they weren't nearly as prominent and two coats was perfect. My only complaint is that it is just an awful color with my skin tone, these pictures are actually making it look better on me than it really does. This polish is going to be awesome for stamping though.

I took advantage of the Nordstrom's sale and bought three Deborah Lippmann polishes: Sugar Daddy, Mermaid's Dream and Flash Dance. I decided Sugar Daddy would be an interesting and pretty base for Chocolotta Love and now I am in love with Deborah Lippmann polishes...sigh :( Sugar Daddy has a perfect formula and the color is just gorgeous, I hope you don't mind the the million and one pictures of it.

This is 2 coats

Gods! I love this polish!!! I love the duochrome effect here, I just wish I could have taken better pictures for you guys.

Anyways, Sugar Daddy is not meant to be the main event so here is Chocolotta Love.

Two coats over Felicity:

Two coats over Sugar Daddy:

I should have layered this over brown and embraced the poop with fruit loops stuck in it appearance, but instead I chose some lackluster combos.  I'll have to try it over brown before I make a  final decision, but so far I am disappointed. Color combos are personal preferences, but Chocolotta Love had some formula issues; It was thick and hard to get consistent coats of glitter.

Here's one more photo for you and Thanks for looking!
